Sir Malcolm Walker CBE, founder of Iceland Foods Ltd, spoke at the latest Moreton Hall Business lunch to a captivated audience – both on site and on line.
With over 450 guests attending the annual Investec Wealth & Investment sponsored lunch at this prestigious school, the Iceland boss talked about his life in business with the audience whilst streaming the event live to online viewers, allowing them to share his experiences with the wider audience.
Working in partnership with production company Wild Edric Media, we welcomed the opportunity to meet with the Iceland boss, hear what he had to say and connect with many more people via the latest streaming technologies.
The entrepreneur spoke about his experiences in retail, detailing how he began work as a trainee manager at Woolworths, founding Iceland as a side-line in 1970 with a single small shop in Oswestry selling loose frozen food, and a starting capital of just £30. A fascinating journey then ensued allowing him to spearhead the Iceland of today, with annual sales of £2.8 billion.
Richard Briggs, Communications Development Manager at Moreton Hall School said:
